Meshaal thanks Iran’s help, seeks students’ help to liberate Al-Quds

TEHRAN – Hamas political chief Khaled Meshaal on Monday thanked Iran’s help to Palestinians during the Zionist regime’s ruthless war on Gaza and asked Iranian students to join the Palestinian resistance movement in helping to liberate Al-Quds.
“God willing we will liberate Al-Quds (Jerusalem) together and pray together there,” he told students at Tehran University.
“We are fully preparing ourselves to liberate all of Palestine, retake Al-Quds and secure the return of all Palestinians,” AFP quoted him as saying.
On Sunday, Meshaal met with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and brief him about the victory of the resistance movement against the Zionist regime during the 22-day war on Gaza.
During the meeting the Leader said Iran is ready to help in reconstructing the Gaza Strip.
“We met and reached agreement on how Iran can help in rebuilding Gaza,” Meshaal said.
The Israeli assault devastated wide swathes of the impoverished and densely populated Palestinian enclave, already reeling under a punishing Israeli blockade imposed after the Hamas takeover of the territory in June 2007.
According to the World Food Program, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization and Palestinian officials, between 35% and 60% of the agriculture industry has been wrecked by the three-week Israeli attack, which followed two years of economic siege.
Christine van Nieuwenhuyse, the World Food Program’s country director, said: “We are hearing that 60% of the land in the north -- where the farming was most intensive -- may not be exploitable again. It looks to me like a disaster. It is not just farmland, but poultry as well, The Observer reported
